Lumiscope In private testing
The house’s movie night.
Lumiscope is a native Plex app for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Mac, made for one home theater, with Calista built in.
Lumiscope was called Marquee. Same app, new name.
On the Apple TV
Screenshots show titles from a personal Plex library. Artwork, trademarks and ratings belong to their respective owners and are shown only to illustrate the app.
What it does
-
Ask Home
Ask for a mood, not a title: “something cozy”, then “darker”, then “only 4K”. Calista only ever suggests what is actually in the library.
-
Every profile, its own picks
Each person in the house gets their own “haven’t seen”, kids’ profiles stay inside their ratings, and Continue Watching waits on the Apple TV Top Shelf.
-
Small TV
Keep a live channel in a small window over a movie or a Power Hour, or pop anything out into Picture in Picture.
-
Power Hour nights
A party mode that hands the big screen to a Power Hour from PartyStarter HQ.
-
Picture and sound, kept intact
Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Atmos play as mastered, with a per-room plan for lossless audio.
-
On the way
New episodes of the shows already on the shelf, and what is arriving on the streamers the house watches.
